Noynoy's Challenge

I was playing around with some ideas on how to picture the new president against his formidable challenge -  systemic corruption in all levels of goverment, and immediately I pictured him as a knight lacking in form not unlike Don Quixote of La Mancha about to take on the fight of his life. Then I imagined the adversary to be not the regular dragon but a highly mechanized machinery  to symbolize the highly systematic ransacking of the country's lifeblood through bureaucratic graft and corruption. And voila! here's the cartoon. Will the people's fledgeling champ win against the odds? Let's see how fate will have it and with it our dreams of a better country.

Into the wolves' lair

The people's choice Noynoy Aquino, son of  martyred Ninoy Aquino and former Pres. Cory has sought and won the prize of the Office of the President of the country. Winds of change for the better has dominated the campaign trail of Noynoy. A great promise waiting to happen. Or is it. Some names being flaunted around  to occupy certain juicy goverment posts after his inaguration are names tainted with the same allegation- CORRUPTION. The core issue by which he built his presidential bid around . The culprit so correctly identified by him to be  behind the nation's unending woes brought about by the insatiable greed of those who loitter the corridors of power while dipping into the public coffers.

Nonetheless he remains to be the best choice most Filipinos believe we ever had in decades. Is he another "good intention" that will litter the path to our country's deepening perdition...Well, I guess all we can do is wait and see how he will fare out ...
